Many of these are settings of popular hymns. However, there are several originals of varied purpose. Open Your Eyes and Help Will Come were written because the spirit dictated that it be so. They are fairly religious in nature but are written in much more of a pop style. Nothin' Like You is not religious at all and I debated including it but felt like it would contribute to the "fun" side of the book. The Character of Christ is what I've called my "9 page aria" (whether that is an accurate description or not); it is meant to deepen ones understanding of Christ and his "character". Hopefully these selections will strengthen your testimony of Christ and give you resolve through the doldrums of everyday life.
