The Complete Performer Level 1+
Pianistic technique has no meaning except in connection with performance. No individual or audience wishes to hear or endure completely sterile, repetitious "wallpaper" exercises. A technique book alone would not allow the student to develop their skills within a creative, musical environment.
The Complete Performer 1+ explores the musical and physical considerations of the emerging pianist in relation to the repertoire he or she is playing. Through discussion, feeling and listening, good habits are promoted that will last the student a lifetime and insure a free, natural approach to the keyboard.
At the beginning of each segment in The Complete Performer 1+ a particular technical idea is discussed and then experienced through a very short preparatory exercise. This idea is immediately put to use in the solo or recital piece that follows. Throughout there is encouragement to listen to the result of careful listening and correct use of the arms, hands and fingers to produce the desired sounds.
For easy cross referencing, The Complete Performer 1+ is carefully coordinated to the Piano Lessons 1+ of the Noona Comprehensive Piano Library. Selections are also recorded on the Level 1+ MIDI Accompaniment Disk and Accompaniment CD to add the joy of ensemble playing. From exercises to studies, from solos to recital pieces, The Complete Performer 1+ will give the student a complete pianistic world in which to grow.
