Essentials for Strings provides materials that will enable individuals and homogenous/heterogeneous string groups to build the secure technique so vital to string players who want to express themselves musically. In short, this systematic approach to technical development may be utilized equally well in private lessons, string classes, string orchestras, and string ensembles.
Adopting a system for counting rhythms is essential for everyone who wants to sight-read music with accuracy. Essentials for Strings allows students and teachers to choose the traditional counting system as presented or another system. The importance of deciding upon a counting system and then applying it cannot be overemphasized.
Because the students must be encouraged to read notes rather than just fingerings, the fingerings indicated usually signify a necessary shift or a cello extension.
