The Grand Piano 225 occupies a rare position in the piano world: a true Imperial Line instrument in a size that lives comfortably in a serious private music room or an intimate concert space. Its 92 keys extend four notes below the standard keyboard range, reaching down to the Subcontra F. Those extra strings don't simply expand what you can play. They vibrate sympathetically throughout every register, enriching the harmonic complexity of the entire instrument in a way that has to be heard to be understood.
Built on Bösendorfer's Resonance Case Principle, the 225's entire spruce body, not just the soundboard, participates in sound production. The process behind it is unhurried by design: the spruce is air-dried for four full seasons before it enters the Vienna workshop, and the finished instrument represents roughly six years of work from raw material to first note. This particular example is finished in Polished Ebony and is in stock now at Piano Gallery in Idaho Falls.
