Product Overview
The Dream Rags follows a dream-themed arc across three pieces: “Sleepwalker’s Shuffle,” “The Nightmare Fantasy Rag (A Night on Rag Mountain),” and “Morning Reveries.” Together they move from drowsy wandering through a dramatic nightmare to a gentle awakening.
Albright combines the rhythmic drive and form of traditional ragtime with the harmonic color and wit of a 20th-century concert composer. The subtitle “A Night on Rag Mountain” plays on Mussorgsky’s famous tone poem.
This 32-page Edition Peters publication presents the complete set. The pieces work well as a group or as individual recital selections.
