Yamaha BB-BOBO-SYM Tuba Mouthpiece | Piano Gallery, Idaho Falls
The Yamaha BB-BOBO-SYM is a signature tuba mouthpiece designed with legendary tubist Roger Bobo for symphonic playing. Its semi-shallow cup and open 7.50 mm throat produce a full, focused sound with clear articulation. It’s a strong choice for advancing students and professional tubists who play in orchestras and wind ensembles.
Product Overview
The BB-BOBO-SYM pairs a 32.90 mm rim inner diameter with a standard rim contour and thickness. This gives a comfortable, familiar feel that supports both endurance and flexibility.
The semi-shallow cup brings clarity and definition to the tuba’s low register, helping notes speak cleanly in fast orchestral passages. The 7.50 mm throat keeps the mouthpiece free-blowing, so players can produce a big, resonant sound without losing focus.
As part of Yamaha’s signature series, this symphonic tuba mouthpiece reflects Roger Bobo’s decades of experience as an orchestral and solo performer. Yamaha’s precise manufacturing ensures consistent dimensions, so a replacement plays just like the original.
